Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu is a classical martial art tradition going back to the Samurai. It is the foundation on which Morihei Ueshiba developed Aikido. Although both arts are similar in the application of Aiki, Daito-ryu is more formal and structured than Aikido. Aiki Martial Arts Institute is the only authorized mainline Daito-ryu dojo in Maryland.
