David Livingston Sensei

David Livingston is the chief instructor / director of the Abbottstown Aikido Dojo, located in Pennsylvania. He began studying Korindo Aikido under John Goss Sensei in 1991 and is one of the Aiki Martial Arts Institute’s most senior students. In addition to his long time tutelage under Goss Sensei, David Livingston has studied / practiced Zen Buddhism since 1993 and has traveled to the famous Zen Mountain Monastery (NY) to study zazen on a number of occasions.

In 1997 Livingston Sensei participated in the first North American Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu seminar conducted by Katsuyuki Kondo, Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Hombucho. He is a founding member of the Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Study Group under the guidance of John Goss Sensei and is one of only a handful of American Jujutsu practitioners holding black belt rank in mainline Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu.

Livingston Sensei began teaching aikido at the East Berlin Community Center (Pennsylvania) in 1998 and opened the doors to the Abbottstown Aikido Dojo in January of 2004. He holds the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Mikata-ha Korindo Aikido, 2nd degree black belt in Aikikai Aikido and 1st degree black belt in [mainline] Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu.
